Seshadri was excited and exhausted. It had been an amazing year for him. He had flown everywhere in the calendar year. Everywhere without an exaggeration! Every nook and corner of the world had seen his hands, the hands which steered aeroplanes, helicopters and jets with the ease of child's play. He had seen a lot in the world of aero and had the enthusiasm of a kid to see loads more. This year had given him everything, right from so many trips to a beautiful wife. Everything.
As he went on for a small chat with the passengers, he thanked everyone for have chosen to fly wit Jet Airways. Morever he went on to say that he wished from his heart of hearts that god blessed all the passengers. To this Mehra responded rudely with an "I'm already blessed." Seshadri was taken aback by the impudence in his talk. So he went up to him for a small chat.
He started asking Mehra what happened to him and why he was like this. Mehra started.
"I am an architect Vishvakarma Mehra who does on-site work. Mine is a very demanding job as I am one of the best architects in the country and I have serious projects, highly prestigious ones in hand. On the family front, I'm a happily married man to my childhood sweetheart Vaishali and I have a couple of kids Vinayak and Lambodar, a pair of twins, both studying their fourth grade. Around an hour back I got a call saying Vaishali had been diagonised with blood cancer and wanted to be with me for her last few days. I'm going back to Mumbai for that purpose only, but frankly speaking, I donno how I will console her with the kind of mindset I am in right now. " Saying so, he started sobbing.
Seshadri could now understand why this man was under so much of emotional strain. All he told the guy was, whatever happens is for the good and so he could definitely achieve loads in life with a smile on his face. So one thing he shouldn't lose is the smile. If he could split his sorrows into measures of smiles, he could take himself to places. Seshadri didn't know what he was saying. He just wanted to say something to help the poor man. But Mehra took the advice pretty seriously. The flight was landing. The two parted. Little did they know that they had met for a deeper relationship, something much stronger than this...
